Our Journey...

Our journey into tallow skincare began as a personal quest.

After relocating from Vancouver, Canada, to Marrakech, Morocco, we faced the challenge of extremely dry skin that resembled eczema. Reluctant to use commercial lotions and moisturizers filled with chemicals, preservatives, and questionable ingredients, we sought a safer skincare alternative. Our family dedicated to using only organic and natural components, experimenting with various plant oils to alleviate our skin issues. It was during this search that we stumbled upon an ancient remedy: Tallow.

Tallow, which comes from animal fat, was the preferred skin balm of our great-grandparents. We discovered that tallow balm is not only deeply moisturizing but also nearly identical to our skin composition, packed with fat-soluble vitamins, fatty acids, and minerals essential for skin health.

Curious, we visited our local butcher to acquire leaf fat and rendered it ourselves in our kitchen. With no specific expectations, our sole aim was to find effective healing solutions for our family.

After nine months of experimentation, we refined our formula by combining grass-fed tallow with Moroccan Argan Oil and our own cold-pressed olive oil from our farm. When we shared samples with friends and family, they encouraged us to market it, recognizing its exceptional quality. And so, Ligouti Marrakech was born...
